Dear Band and Choir Families,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year!
I hope you have had a wonderful summer filled with rest, fun, and time with family and friends. As we begin a new year, I am excited to welcome both returning and new members to our Band and Choir programs. We have an incredible year ahead filled with performances, festivals, leadership opportunities, travel, and memorable musical experiences.
Before looking ahead, I would like to celebrate the accomplishments of our students from last year. Through hard work, dedication, and teamwork, our band earned a Superior Rating at the District Band Festival and an Excellent Rating at the Music in the Parks Festival. These achievements reflect the commitment our students made to pursuing musical excellence and represent an important milestone in the continued growth of our program.
Our theme for this year is "Reaching Our Everest." Just as climbers prepare, persevere, and work together to reach the summit of a mountain, we will challenge ourselves to pursue excellence in music, character, and service. Every rehearsal, performance, and achievement will be another step toward reaching our highest potential.
This year, students will continue developing their musical skills while learning the importance of teamwork, responsibility, discipline, and leadership. Whether this is your first year in our program or your final year before graduation, each student plays an important role in our success.
Please take time to review the upcoming calendar, performance requirements, and program expectations. Communication will continue through email, our program website, social media, and parent/student messaging platforms. Staying informed is one of the best ways to ensure a successful year.
A few reminders as we begin the year:
Bring your instrument, music, and required materials to class every day.
Be on time and ready to participate.
Check communication platforms regularly for updates.
Maintain a positive attitude and support your fellow musicians.
Take pride in representing our school and community.
Our success is made possible through the continued support of our families, boosters, and community members. Thank you for the encouragement, volunteer hours, and enthusiasm you provide throughout the year. Your support helps create opportunities that enrich our students' educational experience.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone soon and beginning another outstanding year of music-making together. Together, we will continue building on last year's success as we strive to reach new heights and achieve our Everest.
Here's to a fantastic year ahead!
Musically,
Lovina Leon
